Leaving Notion

Migaru Pages has a migration assistant built for Notion. It copies your pages across one for one: the same tree, the same nesting, the same databases, with links between pages pointing at the new copies.

A move is a copy, not a sync: Notion is left exactly as it was. And a move can be taken back, which puts what it made in the trash.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best alternatives to Notion?

Migaru Pages, Confluence, Slite, Nuclino, Outline, ClickUp, Obsidian and AppFlowy are eight to consider for a team's docs and wikis. Which is best depends on what you keep in Notion and who reads it, so this page lists each with what it charges, whether it has a free plan, and who it suits. Migaru Pages is ours: choose it if you want Notion's pages, folders and databases for 30% less on every paid plan.

Which Notion alternatives are free?

Confluence (up to 10 users), Nuclino (up to 50 items), ClickUp (Free Forever, with one doc wiki), Obsidian (without limits or sign-up) and AppFlowy (Personal, for one workspace owner) each have a free plan, and so does Migaru Pages, for one member. Slite (14-day trial, no card) and Outline (30-day trial) start with a trial instead.

Is there an open-source Notion alternative?

AppFlowy calls itself "The leading open source Notion alternative" and is distributed under the AGPLv3 licence. Outline and AppFlowy can each be hosted on your own servers.

Is Migaru Pages a good alternative to Notion?

It is if you want Notion's pages, folders and databases for 30% less on every paid plan, you want your Notion workspace brought across in one move, with its databases, files and the links between pages, or you may want a CRM beside your docs one day, since Pages is part of Migaru. Notion does more in places: Migaru Pages has no live cursors or comments, its databases show as a table or a board, and a move from Notion leaves behind comments, page history, who a page was shared with and more. If you rely on those, Notion may suit you better.

How do I move from Notion to Migaru Pages?

Start a workspace, then either connect Notion from Settings → Migrations and choose what comes, or export your Notion workspace as Markdown & CSV and import the zip into Pages. Either way your pages arrive as they were in Notion: the same tree, databases with their rows and columns, images and files, and links between pages pointed at the new copies.
