Connect Slack

Add Migaru to Slack to see who your team talks to in shared channels, ask the agent in a direct message, and get your notifications there.

Slack is on every plan. An owner or admin connects it once, for the whole workspace.

Add it

Under Settings → Slack, an owner or admin chooses Add to Slack and allows it. Migaru reads only the public channels it is invited to: never your direct messages with each other, and never a private channel.

Invite it to each channel it should follow by typing /invite @Migaru there, then press Refresh channels. A channel it is in starts switched on; switch it off to stop following it.

What it records

Who spoke, never what was said. For each channel, it notes who took part, how many messages there were and when; the words themselves are not kept. A channel where everyone is from your own company records nothing.

Under People from outside, choose whether someone it hasn’t seen is added to your contacts, which is the default, or only matched to people already here. Somebody whose company hides their email address in Slack can’t be matched.

It looks every fifteen minutes, at each channel’s newest messages, rather than reading back through its history. Never track here includes everything on your teammates’ mailbox lists too.

Ask the agent in a direct message

Send Migaru a direct message in Slack and the agent answers as you, from what you can see in Migaru. It only answers in direct messages, and never posts in a channel. Your Slack email address has to be the one you sign in to Migaru with.

What it proposes comes with Accept and Dismiss, and an action in a connected app with Approve and Decline. After two hours of quiet, your next message starts a new conversation. Members whose role is Pages only can’t use it.

Tick Send my notifications to Slack on the same page to have your notifications sent to you there as direct messages.

Disconnecting

Disconnect stops Migaru reading Slack and forgets its channels, and what it recorded stays. To take the app out of your Slack workspace too, remove it in Slack.
