# Switch from Pipedrive to Migaru in four steps

> Export your organisations, people and deals, import each file in a minute or two, and connect your inbox. From then on every email and meeting files itself, on every plan, with no activity to log by hand.

## The move at a glance

- **Four steps** from the first export to a connected inbox.
- **A minute or two** to import a file of tens of thousands of rows.
- **Two years** of email and meetings, read back from each mailbox.
- **Undo** any import from its history, if a column went to the wrong field.

## Pipedrive to Migaru, step by step

1. **Export your records from Pipedrive.** Export organisations, people and deals from Pipedrive as CSV files, one type at a time. Exporting everything at once takes an admin. Nothing connects to Pipedrive, so nothing there changes while you move.
2. **Set up your stages and fields.** Name your deal stages exactly as they are in Pipedrive, and add a field for each custom field you want to keep. The importer maps onto fields that already exist, and a stage only comes across if Migaru has one spelled exactly the same way.
3. **Import each file.** Import organisations as accounts, people as contacts and deals as deals, up to 50,000 rows a file. Columns named like one of your fields map themselves, and where it can, Migaru suggests a field for the rest for you to check. Every import is logged and can be undone.
4. **Connect your mailbox and calendar.** Each person connects Gmail or Outlook along with its calendar, and Migaru reads back up to two years. Conversations land on the records you imported: contacts are matched on email address and accounts on the domain of their website, so https://www.acme.com and acme.com are the same account. Anything that still looks like a duplicate is flagged for you to merge.

### After the move, if you want

- **Add your call transcripts.** Drop in the transcripts your recorder exports, several at a time. Migaru files each one on the meeting it belongs to, making one when your calendar never had it, or on the account or contact when it can't be sure, and lists any it can't place for you to attach. It reads each one for commitments, unless the person who uploaded it keeps only who and when.
- **Rebuild the automations you still need.** Describe each rule in a sentence: what triggers it, the conditions, and what to do, such as set a field, create a task or notify someone. Migaru reads the rule back to you before it is created. Workflows come with Pro and above.

## What comes across from Pipedrive

| In Pipedrive | In Migaru |
| --- | --- |
| **Organisations** | Accounts. One already in Migaru with the same website is filled in rather than copied. |
| **People** | Contacts. A company column links each to its company's account, made if there isn't one, and a contact already here with the same email address is filled in rather than copied. |
| **Deals** | Deals, each at the stage with the same name. Nothing identifies a deal, so import the file once, or undo the first run before a second. |
| **Emails and activities** | Emails and meetings are read again from each person's mailbox and calendar, up to two years back. |
| **Nova recordings** | Not imported. Drop in any transcript you can save as a file, and Migaru files it on its meeting. |
| **Automations** | Rebuilt as workflows on Pro and above, each described in a sentence. |
| **Marketplace apps** | Not carried over. Migaru connects to Gmail or Outlook, their calendars and Slack, and anything else can read and write records through its API or MCP server. |

## What you gain by leaving Pipedrive

### Email and calendar from the first plan

Pipedrive syncs email from its Growth plan. Migaru reads Gmail or Outlook and its calendar on every plan, from Starter, two years back.

### Nothing to log

Every outside thread and meeting is filed on its contacts and account, and people and companies it hasn't seen are added for you, so the pipeline doesn't wait on anyone logging an activity.

### Promises become tasks

What each side promised in the transcripts you upload, and in email if you allow it, becomes a task, and a follow-up is drafted when one comes due.

### One price for the team

On Pro, one price covers the workspace rather than each seat: $399 per month for the workspace, for up to 5 users.

## Still weighing it up?

The comparison sets Migaru beside Pipedrive on price, recording, sending and more, and says plainly where Pipedrive is the better choice. [Migaru vs Pipedrive](https://www.migaru.ai/compare/migaru-vs-pipedrive.md).

## Frequently asked questions

### How long does it take to switch from Pipedrive?

Four steps. Each import runs as soon as its columns are mapped, taking a minute or two for a file of tens of thousands of rows, and each person connects their mailbox and calendar in a couple of minutes. Reading two years of email and meetings carries on in the background, a batch every fifteen minutes, while you work.

### Will my Pipedrive stages come across?

Yes, when Migaru has a stage spelled exactly the same way. Rename or add stages to match Pipedrive's before importing deals; a deal whose stage matches none comes across without one.

### Can we keep using Pipedrive while we move?

Yes. Migaru never connects to Pipedrive, so nothing there changes while your team moves across. There's no sync between the two either, so pick a day to stop entering data in Pipedrive.

### Does our email history come across from Pipedrive?

Not from Pipedrive: Migaru reads it from the source instead. When each person connects Gmail or Outlook, up to two years of email and meetings are read back and filed on the records you imported.
